Question for Droks Runners
I'm curious if this is something just happens to me or is quite common. Many times when running to droks and passing through the troll caves, I get a wierd lag spike (I am assuming its lag though I cannot honestly say for certain). Basically what happens is, on my screen I will be well past the trolls but still be taking dmg. If I use a shadowstep what will happen is that I will find myself in the middle of the trolls (which is where I believe the game thought I was before the shadow step.
Does this happen to others? BTW, this does not just occur on the road to forge. It seems to happen in any cave where there is a chance for me to be blocked in. It happens quite often. Last edited by Sonya of Red; Oct 03, 2010 at 07:51 PM // 19:51.. |

This results from your computer having a slightly poor connection to the game. The trolls body blocked you (maybe against a wall of the cave?) but your computer didn't register it until later, "later" often referring to the use a skill or attacking the enemies that blocked you.
This can happen anywhere that you are trying to run past a large mob (or maybe small...can happen on groups as small as 2 enemies depending on how they block you) |

you can avoid this by using your mouse to move rather then your keyboard, its a problem that happens to everyone, you can also agro the trolls and walk back some to open a path past

also when this happens you can type /stuck and you will see where you are exactly. However, you will usually be completely blocked when it happens anyways so unless you have a shadow step you are pretty much f'ed

It's not whether your computer has a bad connection. This can happen to anyone using the keyboard to move. It's a unregistered block from the servers, it simply doesn't register that your intended path has been block and doesn't correct itself and you will appear to carry on forward.
This is why if you click to move, it has direct contact to the server and will acknowledge all new body blocks and will react accordingly. This also happens in PvP where body blocking is part of the game play (relic runs). you'll get your team mates shouting at you on vent "you're stuck" and that's when you hit /stuck and you'll be back to where you got blocked in. /stuck is your friend. Apart from that, try to avoid being grouped in with trolls, they smell |

I guess I guess I have to change the way I run. Though probably will be difficult hard to change an ingrained habit.

I use what I call space-walking. Select an enemy past the mob you are likely to get stuck in (trust me, after some practice you will know exactly when you are going to get stuck) and press space now and then. These action type movements, just like click-to-move suggested by karie, will force your computer to show where you actually are. I like space-walking over click-to-move because you can still disable the mouse click-to-move feature (which I find extremely annoying in battle).

Or just pull the trolls out and of the passage and run around them? That was the norm when warriors used to run to Droks.
